Read the Lighthouse Graduation Requirements and Responsibilities

The Lighthouse graduation ceremony is a wonderful celebration for seniors and their families as they complete their homeschool journey. This traditional yet unique and personable cap and gown ceremony is held on a Saturday in May. The commencement service includes the presentation of diplomas to students by their parents and a multimedia slideshow. Family and friends will gather to offer congratulations and celebrate with their graduates.

Families must be members of Lighthouse for the two consecutive years prior to graduation. Additionally, students in their junior year are expected to serve as a Junior Marshals for the graduating class the year prior to their own graduation. More details will be provided by the Junior Marshall coordinator.

Qualified families must sign up and pay the graduation fee to participate in the graduation ceremony no later than October 15th of their student’s senior year. An orientation meeting with additional information and details will be held for all interested seniors and their parents in early fall. The date and location of the meeting will be announced via email.

All students wear a matte black cap and gown with a colored stole and tassel. Honor cords are optional. These costs are in addition to the graduation fee.

Students agree to participate in all group graduation photo session(s), and submit photos for the Senior slideshow as well as the yearbook.

An entire page is dedicated to celebrating each individual senior in our annual yearbook. It is the responsibility of the senior/parent to submit pictures and required information to our yearbook site, TreeRing.  The purchase of a yearbook is optional.
