Lighthouse Eagles Basketball

Lighthouse sponsors a competitive athletics program open to all area homeschoolers age 11 -18.  The purpose of our program is provide the opportunity for homeschooled youth to develop physical fitness, discipline, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and Godly character through participation in competitive sports. Our program is open to non-Lighthouse members, but operates under the principles of the Lighthouse Christian Homeschool Association Statement of Faith, and coaches may include Bible study and prayer as part of their practices. 

We currently have teams for both boys and girls middle school, JV, and Varsity basketball in the fall / winter.  Our teams belong to the North Carolina Home Educators Athletic Conference (NCHEAC), and compete against other homeschool teams from across the state, as well as against local private school and charter school teams. The program is funded by player participation fees, but group fundraising projects as well as business sponsors can help to offset these costs.  If you are interested in playing, coaching, or helping to sponsor a team, please fill out the form below.

TRYOUTS THIS SATURDAY, Sept.26

Lighthouse Homeschool Basketball Tryouts for homeschool students ages 11-18 will be held on Saturday, September 26th, at Franklin Academy, 1127 Chalk Road, Wake Forest NC 27587.

Lighthouse Eagles belong to the NCHE Athletic Conference, and play against homeschool teams from across eastern NC as well as local charter and private schools. 

Practices start the week following tryouts, and games begin in November, ending in late February with the regional and state tournaments. Some of our teams also travel to Liberty University in March to compete in the HSPN East Coast Homeschool Basketball Tournment  www.eastcoasttournament.com

Cost: $325 / $300 for Lighthouse members
        $275 for each additional family member

**Sponsorship forms are available, and many players are able to raise all or part of their participation fee through business sponsorships. 

We are a non-profit organization. All of our coaches and administrators are volunteers and 100% of the fees go toward the program -  paying for gym rental, officials, uniforms, balls, equipment and supplies, league fees, awards. 

Each player is required to bring a completed Registration form (notarized), $50 deposit and a copy of their birth certificate. The birth certificate is not required if it has already been provided in a previous year.  The $50 will be returned if the student is not offered a spot on a team.

Below is the time of the tryouts for each age group:
MS Boys (Age 11 to 13)  8:00 AM  -  9:30 AM
JV/Varsity Boys (Age 14 - 18) 9:00 AM  -  10:30 AM
MS Girls (age 11 to 13) 10:00 AM  -  11:30 AM
JV/Varsity Girls (Age 14 - 18) 11:00 AM  -  12:30 PM
*A player's age is determined by how old they are on Sept. 1, 2009
